ICBO: International Council of Building Officials. One of the three model code groups in the US now merging to form the International Code Council.
IECC: International Energy Conservation Code. Published by the International Council, the IEEC sets forth compliance methods for energy-efficient construction of both residential and nonresidential construction.
Impact resistant glass: is essentially glass that has been reinforced by glazing or a laminating glass containing a .090 interlayer.
Insulating glass (IG): A combination of two or more panes of glass with a hermetically sealed air space between the panes of glass. This space may or may not be filled with an inert gas, such as argon.
Interlock: a Part of a sash in a sliding door or window which become engaged with another when closed. Also called interlocking.
Infiltration:The inadvertent flow of air, which can escape through cracks between
the glass assembly and the window frame, resulting in heat loss.
