Window Terms Glossary 

Casement Window: Is a window that is attached to its frame by one or more hinges, typically is hinged at the top and bottom sometimes at the sides.

Caulking: A compound for filling joints and sealing cracks to prevent leakage of water and air.

Condensation: The deposit of water vapor from the air on any cold surface, which has a temperature below the dew point, such as a window glass or framing that is exposed to humid indoor air.

Conduction: Energy transfer from one material to another by direct contact.

Corrosion: The deterioration of a material by chemical or electrochemical reaction resulting from exposure to weathering, moisture, chemicals, or other agents or media.

Chemically bonded ” welded corner”: a process where the two polymer profiles or pieces are heated and fused together with the aid of a chemical reaction. The reaction and bonding is similar to the original extrusion process
