Double Hung Window !

Double Hung Windows are the most common window types in New York City, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. It consists of an upper and lower sash that slide vertically past each other in a solid frame.

 There are available in different window frame materials such aluminum, vinyl, wood and fiberglass. Most double hung window tilt inward for easy cleaning. they can else be make non tilt for for security purposes such as school, hospital, daycare etc…

Most Common Problems

• “Problem With the balances mechanism” sash crashing down, stuck or hard to open.

• Locking (Broken lock, stuck lock or not locking)

• Broken sash cords, ropes or chains.

• Water leaks ( frame needs to be caulk or cap with aluminum trim)

• “Draft problem” (whether stripping could be missing or damage causing draft between sashes and frame.
